Sigma Lambda Sigma hosted their Dunk Tank fundraiser to help raise monetary funds for the American Heart association this past week (on August 31st). The weather was rough throughout the afternoon event, but all went well!
With the help of Fundraising and Service Chair members, Emily Trest and Gabrielle Weemaes, and Archivist, Samantha Randle, the event was set up and run rather smoothly. The remaining members of Sigma ran the event throughout the afternoon including: Alexis Dawkins, Alyssa Silveus, Sarah Vann, and Megan Rose.
There were plenty of professors, faculty, and coaches dunked throughout the event, the following helped Sigma Lambda Sigma be able to even run the event: Professor Statt, Coach Parker, President Hanley, Professor Schaefer, Professor Mauldin, Coach Gallinger, Derric Knight, and Professor Shaffer-O'Connell! It's thanks to these amazing people that the event could even run. And we thank them for their availability and willingness to work with us:
Sigma Lambda Sigma's main philanthropy is the American Heart Association, and we intend to donate any money raised from this event to them upon the counting of the funds raised to help support the AHA.
